You may be asking yourself, what in the world is HEWOA? You may have tried sounding it out, scratching your head thinking, I’ve got no idea. However , if you’re a parent or you’ve ever been around a young child, HEWOA is the pronunciation of the word hello by toddlers in their native tongue.
Here at HEWOA we’re all about family. So when it came to naming our business my wife and I knew we wanted it to have meaning to us. We wanted to find a word or phrase that had importance within our family. We began putting together the letters of our names, trying to come up with something creative. Nothing excited us. We were stumped. When you run your own business, work can get stressful, you can feel rundown. That goes for any job. So we wanted a name that would remind us to laugh and enjoy the ride! As we sat in the living room throwing names out, our 20 month old daughter who had been doing laps, stops, looks our way and says “Hewoa!” We looked at each other and said “that’s it!!” Her bright eyes lit up as she giggled and scurried away. It’s like she knew all along what our company name should be. Unfortunately one day she will grow up and pronounce hewoa the boring way. We will always have a reminder of how HEWOA came to be.
